Be good to your skin. You’ll wear it everyday for the rest of your life. – Renée Rouleau
With the natural and organic skincare product industry booming, it’s difficult to find a brand that you can trust. You want to buy a product that promotes healthy skin and does not harm the environment. Today I would like to tell you about a new up and coming skincare business that’s not only natural and organic, but is committed to sustainability as well.
I would like to introduce to you…Nina Malanje
Nina Malanje is a Natural and Organic Skincare line that is dedicated to sustainability. Nina Malanje is a combination of the founder’s name and the fertile highlands of Malanje, a city in the Malanje province of Angola in Africa, which also happens to be where the founder comes from. The company came into fruition in 2017 and is driven by purpose, passion, love for pepole and a commitment to sustainability and sustainable practices.
Their products are sustainably and ethically sourced ingredients in eco-friendly packaging. Nina Malanje products are free of parabens, sulfates, fragrances and artificial colourants. They use post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) packaging for their containers, and all their packaging materials are recyclable.
Their first natural and organic skincare range comprises of four different products:
Unrefined Shea Butter
What is Unrefined Shea Butter and where does it come from?
Shea butter comes from the seeds of the African shea tree. Unrefined shea is usually removed from the seeds by hand using a time consuming process. Workers gather the seeds, which are about the size of a walnut, then boil them, making the shells easier to remove. Any bits of broken shell are removed so that the inner seed can be beaten along with water and then boiled to extract the fat. As the fat cools, it’s whipped to make a smooth, usable product.
